The South Australian National Football League Umpires Association is a non-profit organisation and was formed in 1947 to unite all disciplines of Umpires of the South Australian Football League and their Affiliated Leagues.
Over the years, umpiring members of SANFLUA have travelled far
to officiate in their appointed games. Our Association Members are extremely
proud of the contribution they have made to the great game we call ‘Aussie
Rules’.
Today, the primary role of SANFLUA is to assist with the requirements of umpires
officiating at SANFL and AFL competitions. The SANFLUA also organises social
functions, sponsorship, fundraising and represents umpires in forums relating
to football and umpiring.
At present, there are more than 340 members which include life members, running
umpires, associate members, umpire’s trainers and coaches. Currently
there are 137 life members.
